Thriving with Trauma
Group Starts: Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 3:45pm
Thriving after Trauma is a ten-week small group designed for trauma survivors to practice coping skills. It will introduce participants to methods for controlling intrusive, negative thoughts; managing strong feelings; and regulating the disturbing sensory experiences associated with trauma. Group members will be encouraged to practice containment strategies during and between group meetings. This group is a valuable supplement to individual treatment for trauma recovery. In fact, as a requirement for enrollment in this group, the participants are expected to be actively working with a psychotherapist. The group is prerequisite or corequisite for the 'Trauma Group: What You Don't Know May Hurt You' .
